RARE! Selmer TV 20 1950’s - Two tone
Here’s something you definitely don’t see everyday!
A late 1950’s Selmer truvoice TV-20,Probably the largest amplifier made in England at the time.
There are only about half a handful of known examples out there and this one is found to be in fantastic all original condition, with original transformer, brimar tubes and mostly original capacitors. It’s also got it’s original 4x8“ alnico speakers which sound amazing! The amp has four high/low inputs, two channels and a great sounding working tremolo.
Overall the amp sounds absolutely incredible And works perfectly!
Some information from Vintage Hofner-
A 14 watt amp that seems to have been influenced by the US amps both with regard to the speakers fitted and the valves used. It had two channels with two inputs, a volume and a tone control for each. However, unlike the other amps in the range, this amp had a tremolo circuit with speed and depth controls. Four 8" speakers were fitted "in line with current American practice". (!) Valves fitted were: 2 x 6V6, 1 x 5Y3 rectifier, 3 x EF86, 1 x 12AX7. Price in 1958 - 47gns.
