Gibson SJ-100 xtra chakte kok 1995 - Sunburst

An excellent and rare jumbo from Gibson!
This SJ-100 shares the same size, shape, specs and even sound as it’s older sister the SJ200. It has got less ornamentation and frills.. The top is made from spruce and the neck is a three piece maple neck along with a nice chocolatey rosewood fretboard! The main difference on this model is the wood that’s used for the back and sides which is Chakte kok a now rare reddish wood that is found between eastern Mexico and southern Brazil, this was part of Gibson‘s early efforts to experiment with more sustainable tonewoods. It’s actually quite nicely figured and the guitar sounds nothing short of fantastic! With the usual deep thumping SJ bass and a nice balance all throughout.
The guitar is in 100% original condition with no structural breaks or repairs. you can see a lot of nice weather checking all along the guitar and one small ding on the top. It’s a very well taken care of Instrument. Gibson shipped 12 of these models out in 1995! The frets are also In top condition and the action is great with a nice break angle on the bridge.
Comes in its beautiful original tan brown hardcase with purple plush interior.
